ETHYLENE - VINYL - ACETATE

S A V I L E N - the copolymer of ethylene with vinyl-acetate

- represents high-molecular linking concerning to polyolefine. It`s gained by a method similar to a method of production of polyethylene low density (high-pressure).

Savilen exceeds polyethylene in transparency and elasticity at low temperatures, has heightened adhesion to different materials.

Properties of Savilen

The properties of savilen depend primarily on the content of vinyl-acetate (5-30 weights %). With strengthening of vinyl-acetate hardness, thermostability, crystallinity (breaking stress at a tension) diminish, while density, elasticity, transparence, adhesion increase.

Savilen with the content of vinyl-acetate up to 15 % (mark 11104-030, 11306-075) is processed by the same methods, as polyethylene of low density, but the processing by extrusion and moulding is under pressure carried out at a lower temperature. Savilen of these marks is to be used in produce blow-out articles, hoses, gaskets, toys. From it an atmosphere proof, transparent film are gained. They have lower melting point, as contrasted to by polyethylene films.

Application of Savilen

High adhesion properties of Savilen and the good compatibility with wax enables to use it as a coat for paper and cardboard by production of container. To these purposes is used Savilen with the content vinyl-acetate 21-30 weights % (mark 11507-070, 11708-210, 11808-340).

The important feature of use of Savilen is the preparation on its base of a glue - melt. A glue - melt does not contain solvents; at ambient temperature are solid substances. They will be used in a melted view at the temperature of 120-200 АC.

Savilen, containing 21-30 weight % vinyl-acetate (mark 11507-070, 11708-210, 11808-340) serves for deriving glues - melts. Glues on a basis of Savilen are widely applied in polygraphic, furniture, shoe and other industries.

Savilen is well combined with different filling agents and dyes, that cause a wide distribution of these yields.
